About Generations

Printer-friendly version

Generations Federal Credit Union is the fifth largest credit union in San Antonio with more than 46,000 members and $396 million in assets. Founded in 1940 by a group of City employees, Generations has a rich history of serving the City of San Antonio, San Antonio Fire Department, and San Antonio Police Department employees and their families. Anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in Bexar County, as well as family of current members, are eligible for membership. Additionally, companies of all sizes can join Generations for their business banking needs; and can offer Generations Federal Credit Union membership as a benefit to their staff.

We’re proud to live the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” We’ve been recognized for innovative, award-winning services that reach out to the underserved and unbanked within our community, while actively engaging in numerous community initiatives to help all San Antonio residents reach their financial goals. This includes the 2011 Ethics in Business award given by the Ecumenical Center for Religion and Health in partnership with The University of Texas San Antonio College of Business.
