Generations FCU in the Community

Throughout the year, GFCU takes an active role in partnering with local community organizations, charity drives, and initiatives. Read more about our community involvement below.

March 2019
In spite of the unexpected chilly weather and gray skies, GFCU had fun playing in the streets at this year’s Siclovia event on March 31st. We got to see our member and community partners, and enjoyed the fitness activities.
Generations FCU joined the Bexar County Sheriff cadet graduations in the first three months of 2019.
Generations FCU participated in the Big Give on March 28th this year to help support Big Brothers Big Sisters and the children of our community.
Our Member Engagement team had a great time at the Fiesta Medal Party hosted by Guns & Hoses Boxing of San Antonio on March 21st. The team met up with long-time member, Mr. Morones, a Vietnam veteran and member of Generations for over 50 years.
Generations team members attended the 100 Club of San Antonio’s Memorial Festival on March 9th. This event benefits the families of fallen officers.


February 2019
Generations sponsored the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Speed Networking event on February 27th, where our team members caught up with old friends and met new ones.
On February 23rd, the Generations team rocked it at this year’s South SA Chamber’s Big Bowlowski Scholarship Fundraiser, an event to support South San Antonio students.
Generations FCU Member Engagement attended the South San Antonio Chamber’s Networking Breakfast on February 14th. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar presented information about future plans for the department and growing their partnership with the San Antonio Police Department.
We enjoyed hosting Judson High School students during this year’s Job Shadow Day on February 5th. Students asked great questions as they learned how a financial institution functions, and the many career opportunities in the industry.
On February 1st, our team members attended the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce during their annual installation gala, as the community celebrated 2018 achievements and introduced the new board of directors.


January 2019
Generations FCU participated in the 100 Club of San Antonio’s Boots and Badges Casino Bash on January 25th to help raise funds to support the families of fallen local, state and federal law enforcement officers and firefighters in Bexar County.
GFCU Commercial Services and Member Engagement Teams kicked off 2019 by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity on January 24th. They spent the day helping construct a subdivision for local families.
