Generating Connections

Schipull

We started 2018 with a focus on high achievement, and I am happy to report that we have transitioned from the beginning-of-year planning into moving the needle to meet our goals. Our Lines of Business and support departments are carrying out action plans and implementing projects and programs. We’re focused on achieving growth and profitability, while maintaining our value proposition of making it easy to do business with Generations.

On January 18, we celebrated our HEB Evans Branch Grand Opening with ribbon cuttings from the North San Antonio Chamber and the Stone Oak Business Association. We had an opportunity to meet our branch team and visit with members while introducing ourselves to our newest neighbors.

Commercial Lending hosted a Medical Real Estate Network Luncheon on January 25, where our representatives shared information about our commercial loan offerings with participants from various area medical industry businesses.

The Mortgage Lending group hosted the City of San Antonio Neighborhood and Housing Services Department’s Homebuyer
Education Class at the Northwest Branch on January 26. Through this partnership, we are able to educate the community about how to obtain a mortgage loan, using credit, shopping for a home, completing the application process, and the City’s down payment programs. We look forward to continuing this partnership.

Our Headquarters branch and back-office departments welcomed Management and Marketing students from O’Connor High School on Job Shadow Day on February 2. This event is coordinated by SA Works and a partnership between the major Chambers of Commerce and businesses in our county, as well as Junior Achievement. A tour of each work group was followed by a very active networking lunch before our students returned to school.

The application process for our Generations Future Leaders Scholarship is now open, with applications due by March 31, 2018. As in previous years, we will award ten (10) member scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each, as well as one (1) scholarship to a Generations employee or family member. We will continue to promote this scholarship in all high schools within our Field of Membership counties. Last year, we received more than 100 applications, and we expect to receive even
more this year.

We look forward to continuing to share our success and community engagement with you throughout the year!
