We’re excited to share the important upcoming changes that will ultimately improve our ability to deliver a full-service banking experience to our membership.

New Full-Service Branches Coming Soon
In addition to the recently announced new branch location coming soon to 1604 and NW Military Highway, GFCU will be naming additional future branch locations in the San Antonio area over the next several months.

These full-service branches will include drive-thru lanes, exterior ATMs, and ample parking. More importantly, they will provide the proper dedicated space for one-on-one conversations about your accounts with GFCU team members and product specialists, to include mortgage and commercial officers as well as investment advisors.

HEB In-Store Branches Permanently Closing June 30, 2021
We will permanently close our five (5) HEB in-store branch locations to allow us greater flexibility to invest in expanding our traditional branch network. These in-store branches are located at IH-10 and Wurzbach, McCreless, Grissom and Tezel, 1604 and Potranco, and in Schertz, TX. These locations have been closed since the beginning of the pandemic, and over the past year our members have conveniently connected with GFCU through online banking, mobile banking, by phone, and at our traditional branches.

Personal banking is key to our member relationships. For this reason, we have chosen to invest in branches that provide the best possible personal banking experience.  For members that prefer alternative service methods, we will continue to invest heavily in enhancements to our online, mobile, and phone channels.

Because of our members, Generations has emerged from 2020 in a strong financial condition, ready to make plans for the long-term growth of our credit union. Please know that our new branch strategy does not signal cost-cutting or staff reduction, but a revised approach to meeting members’ needs in the most meaningful way possible.

We look forward to meeting with you face-to-face as we open the doors to our new Generations branch locations.
