Generations FCU will close the Northwest Branch located at 6000 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, Texas 78228. The last day of branch operations for this location is Friday, July 17, 2026.

The closure of this branch was prompted by the end of our lease at this location. The closure does not reflect the financial health of the credit union. Generations FCU maintains a strong capital ratio and continues to be a safe and fiscally sound organization.

Since the opening of this branch in 2001, we have three newer locations in the area, ensuring members can still easily conduct business nearby.

  • Castle Hills Branch, 1100 Northwest Loop 410 #800, Castle Hills, TX 78213 (7.2 miles from the Northwest Branch via NW Loop 410)
  • Potranco Branch, 109 Empresario Dr, San Antonio, TX 78245 (approximately 8.2 miles from the Northwest Branch via Potranco Road)

Northwest Branch Safe Deposit Box Holders

  • Safe Deposit Box holders should make arrangements to surrender their box and remove contents beginning immediately, and no later than Friday, July 3, 2026.
  • Safe Deposit Box rental fees (one year’s fee) will be refunded to current Northwest Branch box holders who remove their contents by the due date of July 3, 2026.
  • Members who would like to move their contents to another GFCU branch may plan to do so at the branch of their choice. Please call 210-229-1128 and ask for your preferred location to check Safe Deposit Box availability at that location before proceeding.
  • Generations FCU will not transfer contents or complete a new Safe Deposit Box rental agreement on a member’s behalf.
  • Members who do not vacate their Northwest Branch Safe Deposit Boxes will be required to pay a $250 drill fee (per occurrence) and will waive the key deposit fee.
  • After July 3, 2026, members must coordinate with the GFCU Retail Leadership Team to retrieve their contents. If you are unable to surrender your box prior to July 3, 2026, please call 210-229-1128 and ask for our Retail Leadership Team members to arrange  for retrieval of your box contents.

All Northwest Branch employees will be assigned to other GFCU positions. This ensures that their knowledge and relationships stay right here within our community.
