As President & CEO, Rick oversees all credit union lines of business and support departments. He brings more than 20 years of credit union experience to GFCU, previously serving in roles such as Controller and VP of Accounting and Finance at other financial institutions. He joined Generations as Chief Financial Officer. Rick sits on the Board of Directors for the Texas YES Project and previously served on the El Paso Giving Day Committee.

Terry Bishop serves as Chief Financial Officer, providing leadership across the Finance, Risk Management and Information Technology departments. He brings more than 20 years of leadership experience from senior roles at banks and credit unions, overseeing finance, accounting, treasury, compliance, enterprise risk management, and information technology. In addition, he served in Iraq as a member of the United States Army Reserve. Terry is a Certified Public Accountant and a former board member of the Financial Managers Society.

Cory McDaniel is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience leading diverse lending operations and business banking initiatives. Recognized for driving sustained loan growth, operational efficiency, and member-focused strategies, he blends deep industry expertise with a passion for developing teams and fostering excellence across financial services. Cory has held executive leadership roles at credit unions throughout California and Texas. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management and is a proud graduate of Western Credit Union Management School (WCMS), Class of 2018. His commitment to WCMS continues through his service as a Graduate Assistant in 2019 and 2021 and as a member of the administration team since 2024. Originally from Southern California, Cory now resides in Boerne, TX with his wife Kimberly and their three children, Nathan, Brynn, and Grant, where his dedication to leadership, collaboration, and community remains at the heart of all he does.

Senior Vice President of Member Experience Wendy Albers leads the alignment of member service and satisfaction, closing the loop between member feedback and process improvement throughout the organization. She oversees Member Experience, Retail Branch operations, Retail Training, and Call Center divisions of the credit union. With more than 30 years of banking and credit union experience, Wendy’s expertise includes enterprise policy framework, retail sales and service, and change management. She sits on the board of the Metro SA Chamber, and serves as Social Media Chair for Financial Women in Texas.

Cassian Flores serves as Vice President of Commercial Lending, leading the credit union’s commercial lending strategy and initiatives. He joined Generations in 2019 as a Commercial Relationship Manager and was subsequently named Commercial Operations Manager, joining the Commercial leadership team. Cassian began his career in commercial lending as a Credit Analyst while completing his Finance degree at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.  He also serves on the San Antonio Advisory Committee with the Better Business Bureau.

Eve Hernandez leads all marketing and corporate communication efforts at the credit union, overseeing traditional and digital advertising, marketing campaigns, brand awareness and member communications. Throughout her career, she has worked in marketing, public relations and fundraising with nonprofit, for-profit and public service organizations. Eve holds a B.S. in Radio TV Film from the University of Texas at Austin.

Kate Himes serves as Vice President of Consumer Lending, leading all efforts within direct consumer lending, underwriting and the lending call center. She brings executive leadership with more than 25 years of experience in collections, loan servicing and lending.

Brent Mora serves as Vice President of Mortgage Lending, overseeing all Credit Union home loan products, strategy and production. He has worked in direct consumer mortgages for more than 11 years at other financial institutions, bringing experience in sales, training, production, process improvement, regulation, and compliance. Brent holds a B.A. in History from the University of Texas – San Antonio, an M.A. in Education and Leadership from Wayland Baptist University, and he currently sits on the Board of Directors of Communities in Schools of San Antonio.

Samantha Olivarez is responsible for all aspects of company-wide infrastructure systems, information systems, and software applications from design to implementation and evaluation. She also oversees IT support for the credit union. Olivarez has been with Generations since 2012, previously holding the positions of AVP of IT Operations, IT Operations Manager, Systems Analyst and Computer Operator. She holds a B.B.A. in Computer Information Systems and an M.B.A. in Cyber Security and Information Assurance from Texas A&M University – San Antonio. Olivarez is a graduate of the Metro SA Chamber Leadership Lab and serves as Secretary on the Executive Board of Youth Code Jam.

In her role as Vice President of Human Resources, Marissa Scheffler is responsible for the strategic direction of the credit union’s recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management and company culture. She joined the Generations Human Resources Team in 2006 as an intern and went on to hold the roles of Human Resources Generalist, Payroll & Benefits Coordinator, Human Resources Manager, and most recently, AVP of Human Resources. Marissa holds a B.B.A. in Human Resources from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She sits on the Boards of the UTSA Alumni Association and the San Antonio Business Group on Health, where she also serves on the Executive Committees for both organizations. Marissa is a graduate of the Metro SA Chamber Leadership Lab and is certified in PHR and SHRM-CP. 

As Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management, Danielle Smothers leads the Risk Management and Records Management divisions at Generations Federal Credit Union. She also serves as the organization’s BSA Officer and oversees all information security and fraud prevention strategies. Danielle brings more than two decades of banking experience, including retail market and contact center leadership and oversight; most recently serving in the role of Vice President of Retail Delivery. Danielle currently serves on the board of Hope at Heart, where she is Governance Committee Chair, and is an Embajadora with the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She previously served as board co-chair for Girls on the Run Bexar County. A graduate of Metro SA Chamber Leadership Lab, Danielle was recently selected for Leadership San Antonio Class 50.
