“YES Golf Classic” Golf Tournament

Golfing “fore” the best cause! We were proud to attend The TEXAS YES Project’s Taste of Education Dinner and played in their “YES Golf Classic” Golf Tournament. These events help raise funds to support 85,000 students across Texas with school supply kits! Responders First Foundation Golf Tournament

Happiness is a day at the golf course supporting Responders First Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports firefighters and families when facing a medical crisis. We had the best time sponsoring their golf tournament on Monday, April 24th, and seeing how they are helping firefighters during unforeseen circumstances! Any Baby Can of San Antonio Walk for Autism

We were thrilled to be at the Any Baby Can of San Antonio Walk for Autism at Palo Alto College on Saturday, April 22nd. As an official sponsor, GFCU Cares was there to lend our support in making this cause possible. Autism impacts one in 36 children nationwide. Autism Heroes kicked off the event on their motorbike brigade. The funds raised from today’s event by our members and employees will help provide service and support for families raising individuals on the spectrum in Bexar County. We thank you for your participation! #GFCUCares

San Antonio Food Bank Donation Collection

In GFCU fashion, donations played an integral part in our All Staff meeting that took place on Thursday, April 20th. Collectively, we raised a record amount of non-perishable items as our GFCU team members cleaned out the pantry and brought in a whopping 855 pounds of donations for the San Antonio Food Bank! In total, we have collected 1,166 pounds from employee and branch donations. A big thank you is in order for all who donated to help fight hunger and inspire hope in our community.

State of the City Address Luncheon

GFCU had the pleasure to attend Mayor Ron Nirenberg‘s State of the City Address Luncheon with San Antonio City Chamber of Commerce, San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce, and Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce presenting. Event attendees gleaned information on all things San Antonio, including issues such as boosting workforce development, affordable housing, and feasible transportation. We know how crucial it is to be a part of the economic conversation surrounding the growth of our city!
