Home Equity

Home Equity Loan or Line of Credit: Which is best for you?

Use the equity in your home to help you meet any number of your financial goals, including home renovations, debt consolidation, unexpected vehicle repairs, and more.

  • Home Equity Loan – A standard, fixed-rate loan. Terms from 5 to 20 years and a maximum loan amount up to 80% CLTV (combined loan-to-value) means you can get the financing that works best for your specific budget and needs.
  • Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) – Similarly to the standard loan, a Home Equity Line of Credit also allows you to borrow against the equity in your home, but offers the increased flexibility of being able to draw on those funds as you need to. Biggest perk? A HELOC with GFCU has a FIXED rate for payment transparency, plus we offer an interest-only payment option for the first 5 years.
