Box of Dreams School Supply Distribution
In August the #GFCUCares team joined The Texas Yes Project Box of Dream Program to deliver school supply kits to local elementary students, helping ensure they have the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive this year. We’re proud to be part of efforts that make a difference in our community, one student at a time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Communities in Schools of San Antonio School Supply Drive
The #GFCUCares Team proudly supported the Communities In Schools of San Antonio Stuff the Bus initiative by delivering much-needed school supplies and presenting a check for $5,044, made possible through generous employee contributions. Thank you to our members and staff whose support helped equip local students for success. GFCU Vice President Brent Mora serves on the Communities In Schools of San Antonio Board, helping advance programs that provide students with essential resources, academic support, life skills, and more. San Antonio Food Bank Food Drive
Our 2026 Rising Leaders cohort led a successful food drive in support of Hunger Action Month, bringing together employees and community members for a meaningful cause. Through collections at our biannual All-Staff Meeting and throughout September, we gathered 600 pounds of food to benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.

 

 

 

 

 

Community Code Jam 2026
In September our IT Department volunteered with Youth Code Jam, helping inspire the next generation of innovators through technology and coding education. By sharing their knowledge, experience, and passion for STEM, our team helped empower local students with valuable skills and confidence to explore future careers in tech. Our Vice President of Information Technology Samantha Olivarez serves as an executive board member for Youth Code Jam.

 

 

 

 

#GFCUServes in September
As part of our Month of Serving initiative, the #GFCUCares Team volunteered with Haven for Hope, Meals on Wheels, and the San Antonio Food Bank. Through hands-on service, employees helped support critical programs benefiting individuals and families throughout San Antonio. We are grateful for every team member who contributed their time and dedication to making a positive impact on our community.
