Need a Payment Method You Can Rely On?
Whether you’re paying rent, making a large purchase, or sending money to someone you trust, GFCU offers two secure and guaranteed payment options — Money Orders and Cashier’s Checks — each designed to give you and your recipient peace of mind.
MONEY ORDERS
Reliable and Convenient
A money order is an incredibly valuable form of payment when you’re looking for a secure and trusted way to give funds.
Unlike a standard personal check, a money order is prepaid and obtained from the credit union, guaranteeing the recipient that the funds are available. This eliminates the risk of a bounced check and provides peace of mind for both the sender and receiver.
Money orders are widely accepted by both individuals and businesses, making them a popular option for various transactions, from paying bills to sending gifts.

Features & Benefits of Money Orders
Use Cash or Your GFCU Account
You can enjoy the flexibility of getting a money order with funds you bring into the credit union for the request, or by using funds directly from one of your GFCU accounts.
Budget Control
The prepaid nature of a money order helps you plan and budget for your payment accordingly.
Enhanced Security
Avoid the risks of carrying or mailing large amounts of cash.
Widely Accepted
Their widespread acceptance makes them a popular and convenient way to pay for a variety of things.
Cashier’s Checks
Official, Secure and Trusted Funds
When your transaction demands an extra layer of assurance and credibility, a cashier’s check is likely going to be your preferred method of payment. Unlike personal checks, which are drawn from your account balance, a cashier’s check is drawn by the credit union on its own funds and signed by a credit union staff official.

Features & Benefits of Cashier’s Checks
Guaranteed Funds
The most significant benefit of a cashier’s check is the guarantee that the funds are available and there’s no risk for the recipient that the check will bounce. This assurance makes cashier’s checks perfect for high-value transactions.
Official
A cashier’s check is issued directly from the credit union with the credit union’s name and logo, giving it added authority. This built-in trustworthiness can be crucial in situations where establishing credibility with a seller is critical, if not required.· Examples of such transactions would include a down payment on a house, purchasing a vehicle from a private seller or conducting a large business transaction.
