The 2024 Future Leader Scholarship Winners

Generations Federal Credit Union is happy to announce the recipients of the 2024 Future Leader Scholarship, who will each receive a one-time $4,000 award for education expenses. Our scholarship program is designed to support students who have demonstrated their commitment to academic achievement and community leadership. 

These scholarship recipients shared their hopes and vision for how they would like to lead change within a complex challenge facing the world within their chosen field of study. We’re proud to award and recognize these future leaders among our GFCU membership. 

Congratulations to this year’s three scholarship winners (listed in alphabetical order) for their achievements to date. We look forward to their future accomplishments!

GFCU Scholarship Designations

Aaliyyah Garcia
Robert “Bobby” Guerra Memorial Scholar
Aaliyyah Garcia is recognized as the Robert “Bobby” Guerra Memorial Scholar in recognition of her commitment to community involvement. Aaliyyah has dedicated her time to serve the Travis Early College High School Parent Teacher Student Association and the San Antonio Blazers Track & Field Club. She also organized and led the Travis ECHS School Supply Drive, raising school supplies at all grade levels to be donated to the Salvation Army. Aaliyyah additionally has aspirations of advocating for the equalization of economic opportunities within disadvantaged areas of San Antonio.

Christopher Corona
Leroy Harvey Honorary Scholar
Christopher Corona is recognized as the Leroy Harvey Honorary Scholar in recognition of his dedication to education. Christopher has worked at San Antonio Independent School District and North East Independent School District while completing his Master’s Degree in Music Leadership. One of his goals is to provide a place in the San Antonio community where anyone can study classical music, regardless of socioeconomic status or income level. Through this type of educational program, he hopes to promote diversity and accessibility within nonprofit performing arts organization administration.
